Summary

SocialBee is great for individuals who want to schedule social media posts and track the results of their campaigns. However, it lacks some collaboration features you may need if you manage a team.

Who is SocialBee for?

SocialBee is best for individuals looking to create and schedule social media posts and track their results in one place.

SocialBee focuses on and excels at these aspects of social media management.

However, while there are team and collaboration features, they lag behind competitors in tasks you can perform. So, you may want to consider other options if you manage a large social media team.

If you want to explore another robust option, check out Vista Social.

That said, let’s dive into the SocialBee review proper.

SocialBee key features

Post composer

SocialBee’s post composer has the features and ease-of-use you expect from a social scheduling tool.

First, you’ll see your connected social profiles at the top of the composer. SocialBee lets you schedule and publish content on:

  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • LinkedIn
  • X (Twitter)
  • TikTok
  • YouTube
  • Pinterest
  • Google Business
  • Threads
  • Bluesky

After you select the profiles to publish to, there’s a caption box to write your social caption.

But beyond that, you can edit the post for individual social platforms.

SocialBee post composer

You also have the social media AI caption generator if you need help with captions.

Then, there’s an AI image generator.

Another great addition here is the ability to use Canva without leaving SocialBee. In addition to that, you can pick images from GIPHY and Unsplash.

A feature that’s absent on many competing tools is the re-queue feature. With this, you can set up the number of times a post should be republished and when to expire the re-queue.

Overall, the post composer saves you time and the stress of jumping on each social network to create posts.

Social media copilot

Unless you’re a marketer, you may struggle with creating an effective social posting strategy.

And even if you’re a marketer, pulling it off will take some time.

This is where the social media copilot comes in.

The social media copilot helps you generate a posting strategy based on your industry and products.

suggested social networks in SocialBee

SocialBee will ask you some questions and then generate a strategy based on your replies. This social strategy includes elements like:

  • Best social media channels
  • Content categories
  • Posting plan
  • Generated posts

So, if you’re new to social scheduling, copilot can get you up and running in minutes.

Is the copilot perfect?

No, but it gives you a framework you can customize for your business needs.

Beyond that, it won’t override your current setup in SocialBee. So, if you’ve been publishing with SocialBee, you can still try the copilot.

AI caption and image generator

If you’re coming up short with post captions, SocialBee’s social media AI caption generator can give you a good start.

Click the AI icon below your caption box to create a caption.

In the AI caption generator interface, SocialBee provides prompt templates for various use cases. Once you select any of the prompt categories, you’ll see possible prompts to start with.

AI post generator in SocialBee

You have settings like the tone of voice and the approximate number of words. But beyond that, you can add hashtags, emojis, and select the number of posts to generate.

Generating captions in seconds is fantastic, but SocialBee takes it further with the AI image generator.

And the great thing is that SocialBee suggests relevant image prompts based on your post caption.

With the caption and image generator, you can generate content a few times to get the best results.

So, if you’re staring at a blank page, dreading an upcoming deadline, the AI generator can be your savior.

Schedule Setup

While the Schedule Setup has a calendar, it works essentially as a planner.

The setup shows the content categories and their time slots in a typical week.

For example, you’ll see categories like blog posts, industry news, case studies, etc.

So, having industry news on Mondays and Thursdays means you should have two social media posts for that category and time slots every week.

Schedule setup in SocialBee

First, you have the calendar view that shows an overview of your content categories for various time slots during a typical week.

Then, there’s the compact view, which shows both calendar and schedule statistics. In the schedule statistics, you’ll see the number of time slots for each category and the number of social accounts it’s posting to.

This helps SocialBee determine the number of posts per week for each category.

If you use the copilot, it will automatically populate the Schedule Setup with content categories. However, you can also create new categories and move them to your preferred time slots.

Also, SocialBee lets you filter your setup by categories and social profiles.

Next Posts

In the Next Posts section, you have your regular social media calendar.

Here, you’ll see the posts you’ve scheduled.

While Schedule Setup only displays categories for a week, Next Posts shows the scheduled posts for every day of the month.

Beyond manually creating posts, you can add your blog RSS feed to extract social posts from blog posts. These posts will also appear in this section.

Next posts in SocialBee

Next Posts have 4 views, including:

  • List view
  • Calendar view
  • Grid preview (for Instagram)
  • Failed posts

In this section, SocialBee automatically selects a social profile. So, select a social profile at the top right corner to see the posts scheduled for that profile.

With Next Posts, you can discard the clunky Google Sheets and use SocialBee to plan an automated social media calendar.

Engage

When you publish social content, you want the ability to reply followers who drop comments and send you messages.

With the Engage module, SocialBee has a respectable social media inbox tool.

SocialBee Engage dashboard

This section lets you reply to post comments, messages, and mentions on multiple social media platforms.

However, note that some platforms are supported for scheduling but currently unavailable for Engage. I’ll do a breakdown of the supported platforms in Engage later in this review.

That said, SocialBee lets you group conversations in boards. Then, in each board, you have streams of different engagement types.

Workspaces

Do you work with clients or team members?

SocialBee Workspaces lets you organize your profiles and add the right people to each workspace.

So, you get the option to add users under one of three roles: manager, publisher, and contributor.

Workspaces settings in SocialBee

But while you can add new users, you can’t set up approval workflows or even assign tasks to team members.

And there are limited opportunities to interact with team members.

For example, SocialBee lets you add notes and tag users in individual posts. But you have to visit the Content section to create a note, which can take a few clicks.

Personally, I’d prefer to see the notes in the post composer so that I can leave instructions while creating posts. Notes are currently unavailable in Engage, although SocialBee is working on it.

You can also create new workspaces for other sets of social profiles.

Overall, the Workspace lets you add clients and team members and organize social profiles but lacks some social media collaboration features.

Analytics

Unlike some tools I’ve reviewed, SocialBee provides analytics for all my connected accounts.

It provides metrics in categories, such as:

  • Page analytics: Here, you’ll get metrics like the number of posts, profile growth, and the number of followers. There’s also engagement distribution in terms of likes and comments.
  • Post analytics: This provides engagement metrics for posts and different post types.
  • Insights: Here, you’ll find post distribution, top post types, and top categories.
  • Post history: This shows posts for the selected social profile.

Beyond these, you have competitor analysis for Facebook pages to compare your metrics with competitors’.

SocialBee analytics

To keep a copy of analytics or send to clients, SocialBee lets you export it in PDF format. You can also add a client’s logo and an overview of the report.

Another lovely thing is that SocialBee sends a weekly analytics report to your email inbox. So, you can see important metrics for your social profiles over the past week.

If you want to prove that your “exciting” social posts contribute to business goals, SocialBee Analytics arms you with relevant metrics. In addition, you can find improvement opportunities for your strategy.

Integrations

Integrations help you connect with other platforms to improve your social media results.

SocialBee provides integrations in categories like:

  • Design (Canva, Unsplash, and GIPHY)
  • Content curation (Pocket and Quuu)
  • URL shorteners (Bitly, Switchy, Replug, etc.)
  • Automation (Zapier, Pabbly, Make, etc.)

So, if you already have an account with any of these tools, you can integrate SocialBee with them to open up more use cases.

To learn how to integrate SocialBee with a tool, scroll to the bottom of your SocialBee dashboard and click on the tool. Doing this will take you to a help article that will guide you through the process.

ConciergeBee Services

ConciergeBee offers social media management, ads management, engaged growth, and content writing services.

If you need any of these services, explore this section. When you click Explore Services, you’ll see all the available services and their prices.

ConciergeBee services

Beyond that, clicking on Service Marketplace takes you to a Fiverr page where you can hire SocialBee experts for specific services.

To purchase a SocialBee service, fill the intake. Here, you’ll share details about your business and goals.

When you combine the SocialBee tool and ConciergeBee services, SocialBee can become your social media agency without the high costs.

Mobile apps

SocialBee has mobile apps for Android and iOS.

The Android version I installed has three sections:

  • Content: Here, you’ll see overdue and upcoming content.
  • Published: This section contains published posts and their dates.
  • Profile: Here, you’ll see your workspaces and the number of accounts connected to each account.

Apart from these sections, the app can send notifications about posts you have to publish from a social media native app.

SocialBee Android app

To be honest, I find the SocialBee mobile app underwhelming when compared to other tools.

This app only provides updates about your schedule rather than help you manage tasks. For example, you can’t schedule posts, upload media files, or engage with interactions.

So, if you use SocialBee, you’ll perform most of your tasks on the web version.

How to manage social media with SocialBee

Create and schedule a social post

To create a social post on SocialBee, click Add Post at the top of your SocialBee dashboard.

Doing this will take you to the post composer interface.

SocialBee post composer

The first thing to do here is select the social profiles you want to publish your content to. Then, write your general social caption.

If you need help with your social captions, click the AI icon to generate a caption. Beyond the captions, you can also generate images.

But if you need images from external services, that’s available too.

For example, you can access your Canva account and designs right in SocialBee.

Canva integration in SocialBee

Apart from that, you can add images from GIPHY and Unsplash.

After creating the general post, SocialBee lets you edit the post for individual social profiles. For example, on Instagram, you can select the type of Instagram post and set up the first comment.

As you do that, you’ll see previews on the right side of the interface.

If you want SocialBee to publish this post multiple times, click Add Variation to create post variations.

Then, set the time to publish the post. SocialBee will also suggest a time to post.

Below that, select a category for your post.

SocialBee post settings

Then, toggle on Re-queue after posting if you want SocialBee to publish this post multiple times.

If you toggle on this option, ensure you set the number of times you want the post to be published. Also set a date to expire the re-queue.

Once you’re done with the post, toggle on Approved and click on + Save post.

Creating your first post on SocialBee is as simple as that.

Use social media copilot to create a social media strategy

Social media copilot starts by asking a few questions about your business and services.

For example, it asks for details, such as your:

  • Motto or tagline
  • Services
  • Tone
  • Target customers
SocialBee social media copilot questions

Once you enter these details, copilot will create your strategy in four steps.

First, it will suggest the best social media platforms and weekly publishing frequencies.

Then, click on Generate content categories.

On the next page, you’ll see content categories with an option to add more.

Content categories in Social media copilot

Next, click Generate posting plan to go to the next step.

In the posting plan, you’ll see content categories in time slots on various days of the week.

However, the issue I have here is that SocialBee adds all your social media accounts to each posting slot. Meanwhile, it earlier suggested posting twice or thrice a week on some of these accounts.

So, it’s literally going against its own suggestions. To rectify that, you have to click on each post slot to remove social profiles.

For the last step, generate posts for your content categories.

Here, you can select posts to add them to your posting queue.

Once you conclude these steps, you’ll see the content categories in Schedule Setup and Next Posts.

Then, add posts to these time slots or customize the posting plan to your needs.

Use Engage module to interact with your audience

The Engage section lets you reply to comments, mentions, and messages.

Here’s a breakdown of the supported social channels and what you can do on each:

  • Facebook – comments, mentions, and direct messages
  • Instagram Business – comments, mentions, and direct messages
  • X (Twitter) – comments and mentions
  • LinkedIn Company – comments and mentions
  • Google Business – questions
  • YouTube – comments
  • Threads – comments

To use this feature, click + Add new board at the top left corner to create a board.

Then, enter the name of the board and click Save.

create board in SocialBee Engage

Once you create a board, add new streams to it. The stream contains a conversation type for a social profile.

Click + Add new stream at the top right corner and select the social profile in the drop-down.

For each social profile, you’ll see the available engagement options.

Add new stream in SocialBee Engage

Click on an engagement option, and SocialBee will load all the conversations.

You can click on any message and reply to it.

SocialBee Engage dashboard

As new messages come in, you’ll see them on your SocialBee dashboard. Also, there’s an email notification feature that alerts you when there’s a new interaction.

The only issue I have here is that you only see interactions that are not older than 7 days. I’d have preferred a month, as this ensures you don’t miss out on interactions where prospects take more than 7 days to reply.

Overall, the Engage Dashboard is an easy way to interact with your audience.

SocialBee pros and cons

SocialBee pros

  • Easy to use
  • Affordable
  • Excellent social content planning
  • Robust scheduling
  • Robust social content creation
  • AI caption and image generator

SocialBee cons

  • Limited collaboration features
  • Limited engagement features
  • No link in bio
  • Underwhelming mobile app

SocialBee customer support

SocialBee offers customer support through:

  • In-app tutorials
  • Help articles
  • Contact form
  • Phone call
  • Email
  • Chat button

Based on my experience, the in-app tutorials and help articles answer most questions you may have about the tool.

So, you won’t have many reasons to reach out to the customer support reps.

SocialBee pricing

SocialBee has 3 standard pricing plans:

  • Bootstrap: This plan comes with 5 social profiles, 1 user per workspace, and 1 workspace. You also get AI-powered copilot, analytics data of up to 3 months, and the Engage module. The Bootstrap plan costs $29 monthly ($24.2 on an annual plan).
  • Accelerate: It comes with 10 social profiles, 1 user per workspace, and 1 workspace. You also get analytics data of up to 2 years. The Accelerate plan costs $49 monthly ($40.8 on an annual plan).
  • Pro: It comes with 25 social profiles, 3 users per workspaces, and 5 workspaces. You can also export branded reports and send internal notes. The Pro plan costs $99 monthly ($82.5 on an annual plan).

Apart from the standard plans, SocialBee also offers agency plans. So, if you run a social media agency, check out these plans.

Take advantage of SocialBee’s 14-day free trial to see how the tool works.

Conclusion

SocialBee focuses on creating and scheduling social media posts.

So, if you’re looking strictly for a social media scheduling and analytics tool, SocialBee is one of the best options available.

However, its collaboration features lag behind competitors, and a feature like link in bio is missing.

And again, you can’t do a lot on the mobile app if you need to schedule posts on the go.

That said, SocialBee is a social media management tool that fits the needs of thousands of marketers.

If SocialBee looks like what you need, explore it further through a free 14-day trial.
